We all have ‘agendas’ when it comes to giving a presentation, right? (Did you get the play on words there?)…Of course we do! But why do these critical slides in our presentations have to resonate with such dull attitude and excitement?

The primary purpose for Agenda PowerPoint Presentations is to set up the stage for the rest of the following presentation. It also outlines the subject matter you’ll be describing in further detail so that your audience can digest your main key points. But why do we find ourselves resorting to the typical bullet point list as the solution for such a critical slide?

Here’s an example of how most agenda slides are structured:

In our case study for World Travel Group, this independent travel agency approached us to create a dynamic template which would entice their audience to discover more about the types of vacation possibilities specific to their interests and personalities. When we rolled up our sleeves, we discovered that the agenda slide needed to impact the audience in a very visual, but also powerful way.

The solution for Agenda PowerPoint Presentations was a tiled photo approach, with on-click animation controls pushing and revealing a section of content in a tab-like fashion. Here is a video of this slide and its animation features:

The result was a slide that was able to tell much more of the story that was behind it’s original bullet point list of words. Also, the animation controls allowed the presenter the opportunity to pace through the categories of travel, rather than revealing all the information at once.

Taking things to the next level, we applied the influence of this design to the rest of the presentation template. You can see in the video before, the elements which inspired the agenda carried through to the other slides:

So, as you can see- Agenda PowerPoint presentations can have much more of an ‘agenda’ than you may have originally thought! Just remember, these slides are your foundation to the rest of your story in your presentation, and setting up the stage should not be overlooked or feel underwhelming.
